On March 23 and 24 this year I participated in a swimming meet for the first time. The Master Swim Ontario Champs 2018 was held in Ottawa this year and it was a real treat for a neophyte swimmer like me! What a great experience.  I even saw a 94 year old woman competing! Yes 94!  And she even did the 200 meter breaststroke!!!

Last weekend, May 5 and 6, I participated in a studio tour for the first time. It was organized by the National Capital Network of Sculptors.  It was also a great experience, and as a bonus it was probable the sunniest and warmest weekend of 2018 so far!
I put out many of my pieces in the back yard and it worked out just wonderfully.

I met many neighbours and a few fellow artists who were kind enough to come by and take a close look at my studio and see first hand the facilities, equipment and materials I have to provide decal, glaze and kiln firing services for myself and others.

I changed things around the second day and pulled Helen Stone's sculptures that I had in a garden setting the first day and put them on the studio porch where her wall hanging now lives (Helen is now living permanently in Equador).

I also displayed thirty, and even sold a few, of the Populous flowers and feathers that the Guild put on display at the Nature Museum as part of the Canada 150 celebrations last year.
Above are a few photos taken at Alpine Clayworks during the weekend.
